The Midterm Exam will assess you on all topics that we have reviewed so far this semester. Please contact me here if you have questions! The topics covered include weathering & erosion, plate tectonics, the rock cycle, astronomy, and the hydrosphere. Some key items to focus on are listed below. However, keep in mind that though the exam will cover all of these, it is not limited to these specific key areas:
- Characteristics that differentiate galaxies
- Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion
- Identify active volcanic regions
- Interactions & formations resulting from colliding, diverging, or transforming tectonic plates
- Identify processes of the formation of various rock types
- Agents of erosion
- Impacts that human behavior have on land & water features
- Characteristics of a typical watershed basin
- Purpose of wetlands
- Permeability & porosity of different sediment types
